NACCHO is the national body which articulates the health and wellbeing needs and interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Managing around 300 fixed and mobile clinics, our 150 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation Member Services speak authoritatively on what constitutes the effective delivery system of comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal people, families and communities.
At a policy level NACCHO takes the lead in reforming Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Policy and its delivery system through:
- review of Government Health policies that impact on the Close the Gap targets and more broadly on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and
- development of internal Sector specific adaptive responses, to identified strategic priorities, including addressing: innovative models of service delivery, nationally consistent Workforce Strategy for AICCHSs, detailed costed Service Development Proposals to enhance comprehensive and integrated primary health care/aged care/mental health services
We are seeking an experienced analyst and policy developer to independently provide written analyses of policy at national and state levels relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Wellbeing Programs, funding service delivery models, initiatives, research and planning; that impact NACCHO, Affiliates and Members Services.

Key Duties include:
- Provide NACCHO with continuing updated analyses in designated areas of national policies, strategies, programs and research findings
- Conduct Desk-based and internet research on Policy Issues
- Provide the GM with analyses, advice, positions papers, communiques and recommendations for NACCHO’s range of responses to the external environment
- Comprehensive needs analysis, development and implementation of workforce solutions
Key Requirements include:
- Degree in Business, Public Health, Social Science, or equivalent preferred
- Demonstrated skills in policy development and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to research and analyse complex material, summarise key issues and develop innovative and creative solutions
- Knowledge and experience with workforce development and VET sector
