How you can develop career progression?

Realistic training, education and career pathways and opportunities are available for Aboriginal Health and Community Workers to develop career progression opportunities within ACCHS.

Placements in the following courses are now available for all Aboriginal staff including Managers, Team Leaders, Administration staff, clinical Health workers and Community health workers from across all genres (including but not limited to Drug & Alcohol Workers, Sexual Health Workers, SEWB, Maternal Health)

How is this training cost effective?

This is a unique opportunity of training at a reduced cost per learner compared to the usual cost of training at any RTO in Australia and has the advantage of becoming a future sector driven training model.

What are some of the specific training opportunities:

Diploma of Management:
This training is for Managers/Programs Mangers Co-ordination Roles working across ACCHS and/or NACCHO Members and/or Affiliates of NACCHO Health/Community Service Roles
– $4000 available to employer in 2 Payments, $1500 after they have been enrolled for 3 months $2500 on successful completion.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment:
Trainers & Assessors – Ear & Hearing Health- Cert IV Primary Care – Cert IV Community Care
– Payment for training to be advised

Ear and Hearing Health Skill Set:
Skill Set for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers.
– Payment for training to be advised

Certificate IV in Primary Health Care Practice:
Up skilling from Cert III to IV or have 5 Pre-Requisites to gain entry into Certificate IV: Participants who currently hold old state based Qualification: New Entrants
– $4000 available to employer in 2 Payments, $1500 after they have been enrolled for 3 months $2500 on successful completion.

Certificate IV in Community Care:
Up skilling from Cert III to IV or have 5 Pre-Requisites to gain entry into Certificate IV: Participants who currently hold old state based Qualification: New Entrants
– $4000 available to employer in 2 Payments, $1500 after they have been enrolled for 3 months $2500 on successful completion.

How to enrol

Enrolling in these courses will provide your staff with opportunities for career development, promotion, career change or a pathway to a degree. With the Health Worker National registration it is imperative that workers have the opportunity of ‘Up skilling’ to Certificate IV level to build the capacity and open up real progressive career pathways.
